Die in Leipzig geborene Simone Kermes ist international eine der gefragtesten Soprane im dramatischen Koloraturfach. Ihr außergewöhnlicher Stimmumfang prädestiniert sie besonders für die virtuosen Werke barocker Meister, wie Händel und Vivaldi, aber auch für die Sopranpartien und Konzertarien Mozarts, Haydns und Beethovens.
Simone Kermes studierte bei Helga Forner an der Hochschule für Musik „Felix-Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ ihrer Heimatstadt. Ihr Studium sowie zwei Aufbaustudien absolvierte sie mit Auszeichnung. Sie wurde erste Preisträgerin beim Felix-Mendelssohn-Bartholdy-Wettbewerb in Berlin und 1996 Bachpreisträgerin beim Internationalen Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Wettbewerb in Leipzig.
Schon während ihres Studiums begann sie ihre rege Konzerttätigkeit und sammelte erste Bühnenerfahrungen. Es folgten Operngastspiele weltweit u. a. gastierte sie in New York, Paris, Lissabon, Kopenhagen, Moskau und an deutschen Staatsopern als Konstanze, Königin der Nacht, Fiordiligi, Donna Anna, Giunia, Rosalinde, Lucia, Gilda, Ann Truelove, Alcina und Laodice.
Konzertverpflichtungen führten sie durch ganz Europa, die USA und Japan zu den größten und berühmtesten Konzertsälen der Welt.
Sie gab Solokonzerte und Liederabende u.a. in der Carnegie Hall New York, im Großen Saal des Moskauer Konservatoriums , im Tschaikowsky-Saal Moskau, im Palau de la Música Barcelona, in der Tonhalle Zürich und in der Frauenkirche zu Dresden.
Bei zahlreichen internationalen Festivals und Orchestern ist sie ein gern gesehener Gast.
Neben vielen Rundfunk- und Fernsehproduktionen hat sie zahlreiche CD´s aufgenommen, die die Werke von Vivaldi bis Humperdinck umfassen. Für ihre Solo-Alben erhielt sie mehrfach internationale Auszeichnungen wie den Jahrespreis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik, den Diapason`Or, Midem Award, Choc le monde de la Musique, BBC music choise , Gramophone –Disc of the month und den Echo-Preis.
The Leipzig-born Simone Kermes is one of the most sought after sopranos internationally for dramatic coloratura roles. Her remarkable vocal range predestines her particularly for the virtuoso works of baroque masters such as Handel and Vivaldi but also for Mozart's, Haydn`s and Beethoven`s sopranos and concert arias.
Simone Kermes was born in Leipzig and studied under Helga Forner at the "Felix-Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music and Theatre in her home town.
She graduated and completed two postgraduate studies, all with distinction. She won first prize in the Felix-Mendelssohn Bartholdy Competition in Berlin and was the Bach prize winner in 1996 of the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Leipzig.
She already took part in active concert performances during her studies and gained her first stage experience. Guest performances at operas world-wide were to follow in New York, Paris, Moscow, States Opera Houses in Germany, Lisbon, Copenhagen; as Konstanze, Queen of the night, Fiordiligi, Donna Anna, Giunia, Rosalinde, Lucia, Gilda, Ann Truelove, Alcina and Laodice.
Concert engagements took her throughout Europe, the USA and Japan.
She gave solo concerts and song recitals in the Carnegie Hall New York, the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatorium, the Tchaikovsky Hall Moscow, the Palace of Music Barcelona and the Church of our Lady Dresden.
She is a welcome guest at numerous international festivals and with many orchestras and works with famous conductors.
She has recorded numerous CDs which include works from Vivaldi to Humperdinck in addition to many radio and TV broadcasts. She received numerous international awards for her solo-albums like the Echo Prize, the annual German Record Critic`Award , the Midem Award, the Choc le monde de la Musique, the Diapason`Or,the BBC music choise and the Gramophone- Disc of the month.
Née à Leipzig, Simone Kermes est l’une des sopranos dramatiques d’agilité les plus demandées sur la scène lyrique internationale. Simone Kermes a étudié auprès de Helga Forner à la Haute Ecole de Musique "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" dans sa ville natale. Elle a obtenu son diplôme de fin d’étude ainsi que deux diplômes d’étude approfondie avec mention. Elle a remporté le 1er prix du concours Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy à Berlin et a gagné le Prix Bach au Concours International Johann Sebastian Bach à Leipzig en 1996. Ses engagements l'ont menée à chanter dans les institutions les plus prestigieuses à travers le monde : au Japon, à New York, à Paris, à Lisbonne, à Copenhague, à Moscou et dans différents grands opéras allemands où elle a interprété les rôles de Konstanze, Reine de la Nuit, Fiordiligi, Donna Anna, Giunia, la Reine de la Nuit, Rosalinde, Lucia, Gilda, Ann Truelove, Alcina et Laodice. Simone Kermes a donné des concerts solos et des récitals de lieder entre autres au Carnegie Hall de New York, dans la Grande Salle du Conservatoire de Moscou, à la Salle Tchaïkovski à Moscou, au Palau de la Música à Barcelone, à la Tonhalle de Zurich et à la Frauenkirche de Dresde. Elle est invitée régulièrement à se produire dans de nombreux festivals internationaux et avec des orchestres de grand renom.
En dehors de nombreuses productions radiophoniques et télévisées, la discographie de Simone Kermes comprend de nombreux enregistrements consacrés à des œuvres de compositeurs allant de Vivaldi à Humperdinck. Ses albums solos ont été récompensés par plusieurs prix internationaux dont le « Jahrespreis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik », un Diapason d’Or, un Midem Award, un Choc du Monde de la Musique, le « Disc of the Month » (BBC music magazine), le « Editor’s Choice » (Gramophone) et le « Echo Preis ».
